NACoA AFFILIATE BENEFITS AND STANDARDS
Benefits
- Discounts on NACoA publications, audio-visual and
promotional materials and reduced registration fees at conferences.
From time to time NACoA will offer bulk discounts on designated items
which the affiliate may purchase for distribution or for re-sale.
- Affiliates will periodically be entitled to receive camera ready
copy/artwork of selected NACoA produced materials for reproduction
and distribution in their own communities (ex. COA Kits).
- Fifty (50) copies of each issue of the
NACoA NETWORK.
- Consulting on program services.
- Periodic fax alerts on related events and issues.
- Meritorious Service Awards.
- A membership certificate certifying membership in good standing.
- Recommend recipients for the Margaret Cork Award.
- The words "an affiliate of the National Association for
Children of Alcoholics" may appear on letterhead and brochures and any
other written materials where the name of the affiliate appears.
Standards
- Participate in activities in one or more of the following areas:
public and professional information, public and professional
education or training and advocacy.
- A minimum five member Board of Directors.
- Job descriptions for board members defining roles for officers.
- Regular meetings supported by the work of a strong committee structure.
- Broad cultural/ethnic representation on the board, except
where organization is composed of particular cultural or ethnic population.
- If an organization has a paid staff, it must have personnel
policies developed in line with sound professional standards,
including job descriptions, hiring practices, and affirmative action policy.
An annual financial statement for the organization detailing income
and expenses (formal audit or financial reports, in accordance with
accepted standards of accounting.)
- Detailed annual operating budget developed and approved by the board.
