to Help COAs
Two federal agencies and NACoA have produced a series of posters and pamphlets designed to bring information and support to young and teenage COAs:
- Posters produced by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy's National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, telling COAs to find a trusting adult and that talking helps
- It Feels So Bad and Alcohol and Drug Addiction Happens in the Best of Families...and it hurts - related posters - all available in English and Spanish and developed NACoA, are available through Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. All suggest ways to support to get help.
- NACoA's pamphlet, It's Not Your Fault, advises COAs that they can take steps to make things better for themselves, and that there are people and programs to help.
These
materials are available in quantities from the National Clearinghouse
for Alcohol and Drug Information (1-800-729-6686). For each poster,
NACoA suggests ordering a quantity of pamphlets.
